Xiamen, June 27, 2025 - The Seminar themed “Legal Solutions for Enterprises’ Overseas Expansion Amid Trade War” was successfully held in Xiamen. The event was jointly organized by the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO), the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) Fujian Sub-commission, the Arbitration Center Across the Straits (ACAS) and other agencies, with support from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Xiamen Committee, the Secretariat of the Maritime Silk Road Central Legal District (MSRCLD) and other agencies.
During the session of speech , Mr. David Liu, Arbitrator of CIETAC and ACAS, and Director of Liu & Partners, introduced the legal risks faced by small and medium-sized enterprises during overseas expansion and feasible precautions based on his more than 40 years of legal work experience. Ms. Feng Yanan, Partner of B&D Law Firm and Senior Consultant of Bowles&Verna Law Firm, noted that Africa has become an emerging destination for Chinese enterprises’ overseas expansion, gave corresponding solutions for legal risks that enterprises might face when expanding to Africa. Mr. Chen Huibin, General Manager of the Legal Department of Xiamen C&D Inc. and Arbitrator of Xiamen Arbitration Commission and Lancang-Mekong International Arbitration Court, emphasized the key role of digital intelligence technologies, such as big data and AI, in addressing cross-border compliance challenges and risks, based on his practical experience.
