ICDPASO Open Day Seminar on Empowering BRI Trade: Building Capacity for Proactive Dispute Prevention & Effective Resolution was Successfully Held

BEIJING, June 23, 2025 - The ICDPASO Open Day was successfully held in Beijing. Themed "Empowering BRI Trade: Building Capacity for Proactive Dispute Prevention & Effective Resolution", the event was jointly organized by the Secretariat of International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO) and the Training Center of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), with support from the International Federation of Warehousing and Logistics (IFWL).

Mr. Jason CHIA, Secretary-General of ICDPASO, delivered the opening remarks for the seminar. During the Discussion Session, Ms. WANG Xiaoyan, Deputy Secretary-General of Risk Management Department of IFWL, and Ms. Jo ZHU, Vice Secretary General of Warehousing and Logistics Department of IFWL, delivered insightful presentations on "Prevention and Case Analysis of Operational Risks in Warehousing and Logistics for The Belt and Road Initiative Countries," sharing their extensive experience and unique perspectives in this field. Mr. Leo LIU, Senior co-partner of Beijing DHH Law Firm, delivered a keynote speech on the "Joint Application of ADR Tools in BRI Trade and Investment Dispute Resolution," providing attendees with practical solutions and insights.

The seminar was moderated by Ms. LI Xuan, Deputy Director of the International Division of CCPIT Training Center, and attened by Ms. ZHOU Wuxiu, Deputy Secretary-General of the IFWL. The event brought together 20 distinguished foreign participants, including senior officials, renowned experts, and senior legal practitioners from seven countries, including Bulgaria, Türkiye, Venezuela, Uzbekistan, Grenada,  Palestine, Tanzania and the African Union Commission. Attendees engaged in in-depth discussions centered on the aforementioned topics.

In the future, ICDPASO will continue to leverage its global network and professional resource advantages, deepen collaboration with governments, chambers of commerce, and legal service institutions worldwide, and provide more comprehensive, efficient support and services for trade and investment activities under the Belt and Road Initiative.
