SIAC Opens Beijing Representative Office

Beijing, May 25, 2026 - Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) Beijing Representative Office officially opened at the International Commercial Arbitration Center (Beijing). International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO) was invited to the launch ceremony.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Davinder SINGH SC, Chairman of SIAC Board, Mr. Edwin TONG SC, Minister for Law & Second Minister for Home Affairs of Singapore, Mr. YANG Xiangbin, Director General of the Bureau of Public Legal Services Administration at the Ministry of Justice, and Mr. TANG Wenhong, Vice Mayor of Beijing.


As Mr. Edwin TONG SC, Minister for Law & Second Minister for Home Affairs of Singapore noted, with the steady and rapid growth of China’s economy and the continuous development of foreign trade, China has accumulated extensive experience in arbitration and become a leading voice in international arbitration. So, the establishment of SIAC Representative Office in Beijing is a strategic move to ride the wave of development and achieve mutual benefits.

Mr. TANG Wenhong, Vice Mayor of Beijing, stated that while upholding the principles of openness and inclusiveness, Beijing will continue to optimize its foreign-related legal environment for business. Also, Beijing is committed to providing top-tier support for the establishment and development of both domestic and foreign legal service institutions. Furthermore, Beijing aims to strengthen the connection and cooperation between SIAC and local arbitration and legal service sectors, using the exchanges in legal services as a link and bridge to drive and facilitate economic and trade contact.

ICDPASO will collaborate with the SIAC Beijing Representative Office to advance the alignment of China-Singapore commercial dispute resolution rules, resource sharing, and talent cultivation, thereby providing tailored and internationalized dispute resolution solutions for market entities.
