On May 21, the Secretariat of the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO) held an expert seminar on the Investment Arbitration Rules(draft). Attendees included Mr. WANG Xuehua, founding partner of Beijing Huanzhong & Partners (BHP) and the arbitrator at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), Ms. LIU Li, Vice Dean of the School of International Law at China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL), Mr. LI Qingming, researcher at the Institute of International Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), Ms. XUE Yuan, professor at the School of Law at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) and Mr. LIAO Shiping, professor at Beijing Normal University (BNU).
Ms. SHEN Peilan, the Secretary-General of ICDPASO delivered an opening speech. Ms. WEI Qing, the Director of the General Affairs Department gave a brief overview of the drafting work. The experts thoroughly discussed the provisions of the rules, utilizing their professional expertise and practical experience to propose targeted suggestions for revisions and amendments in a formal and professional manner.
Taking into consideration the suggestions of the experts, the Secretariat will finalize the rules by making further amendments at an early date, as summarized by Ms. SHEN.
