From 22 to 24 December, 2023, the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization Mediation Entity Mediator Training Course (Ningbo, China) was successfully held.
This training aims to create a team of mediators with a strong professional background, proficiency in advancing the mediation process, an international outlook and good professional ethics. Mr. LIU Jingdong, Director of International Economic Law Department, the Institute for International Law of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and a member of the International Commercial Expert Committee of the Supreme People's Court, Mr. HEE Theng Fong, Specialist Mediator (China) and Ambassador for the Singapore lnternational Mediation Centre (SIMC), and Justice of Peace, Mr. Wang Xuehua, Founding Partner of Beijing Huanzhong & Partners, and Arbitrator at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), Ms. Judith Knieper, Legal Officer at the Secretariat of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), Ms. WANG Fang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Mediation Center of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) were invited to give lectures, and focused on ICDPASO Commercial Mediation Rules, international commercial mediation methods and skills, the UNCITRAL mediator training system and professional conduct of mediators. A variety of methods including group discussions, interactive Q&A sessions, real case sharing and mediation case role play simulation help participants to master various mediation techniques and methods.
The CCPIT Ningbo Committee, the Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Justice, and the Ningbo Lawyers Association gave strong support to this training.
