On February 28, 2023, the International Organization for Standardization Technical Committee on Transaction Assurance in E-commerce Working Group 3 (ISO/TC 321/WG 3) 2nd Meeting was held on topic of “Transaction assurance in E-commerce – Online dispute resolution (ODR)”. This virtual meeting was participated by registered experts from China, Japan, the United States and Singapore. The panel made targeted and constructive comments on the ISO/WD 32122 V3.0 Guidelines for online dispute resolution.
In this meeting, the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO) made specific recommendations on the scope and principles of the ODR standards, explored the impact of new technology areas on ODR, and emphasized the importance of efficiency in ODR, which were affirmed by the panel.
After the meeting, the working group will modify the draft standard according to the suggestions made by the panel, and ICDPASO will continue to follow up on the work to help the development of the ODR standard, and promote the establishment of an ODR mechanism for e-commerce.
