On December 6, 2022, Md. Nuruzzaman, President of Bangladesh Indenting Agents’ Association (BIAA)（Member of ICDPASO Advisory Committee），Bahalul Mansur, Sr. Vice-President of BIAA, M S I Dastagir ,Director of BIAA and other colleagues from BIAA, held an online video meeting with the Secretariat of the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO).
Ms. CUI Tong, the staff of ICDPASO Secretariat, briefed the BIAA on the development of the ICDPASO since its establishment two years ago and the progress it has made in providing dispute prevention and resolution services to global business entities. Ms. WEI Qing, Director of the Department of General Affairs of ICDPASO Secretariat, reviewed the exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in the past two years. She hoped that in the future, the BIAA and the ICDPASO would continue to maintain close cooperation, and provide constructive suggestions on the ICDPASO commercial mediation rules and ICDPASO commercial arbitration rules, jointly improving and applying the rules and the ICDPASO model clauses, to provide more professional public legal services to the Bangladeshi and global business community.
Md. Nuruzzaman, President of BIAA，Bahalul Mansur, Sr. Vice-President of BIAA and M S I Dastagir, Director of BIAA, congratulated the ICDPASO on its achievements in the past two years, and respectively envisioned the future cooperation between the two sides. They made practical suggestions on the cooperation in actively promoting the ICDPASO in Bangladesh business community, assistance in the development of commercial mediation and arbitration business of ICDPASO, and recommendation of legal professional talents such as mediators and arbitrators. Mr. Nuruzzaman expressed his expectation that in the context of recurring pandemic and great changes in global trade, the ICDPASO and BIAA could work together to help optimize the business environment in Bangladesh.
Dr. LIU Chao, Secretary General of ICDPASO, highly recognized the suggestions made by Mr. Nuruzzaman, Mr. Baharul Mansour and Mr.Dastagir, and responded positively to the willingness of cooperation. Firstly, He expressed his gratitude for the support of BIAA. He said that ICDPASO will adhere to the principle of "Extensive consultation, Joint contribution, Shared benefits", and cooperate actively with the BIAA in the exchange of international legal personnel, prevention and resolution operations, the organization of high-end forums and summits, and the enhancement of the international visibility of the organization. In the future, ICDPASO is willing to work together with BIAA in the cause of international commercial dispute prevention and resolution, to create a law-based, internationalized and facilitated business environment for the global business community.
