On the morning of November 25, 2022, Ms. WEI Qing, Director of the General Affairs Department of the Secretariat of International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO) Secretariat visited to the Xiamen University Law School. Prof. SONG Fangqing, Dean of the Law School, Prof. ZHU Xiaoqin, Associate Dean of Law School, as well as Prof. ZENG Huaqun, Prof. CHEN Huiping, Prof. HAN Xiuli and many other lectures from Department of International Law attended in the colloquium for discussion.
During the meeting, Dean SONG Fangqing introduced the founding of Law discipline at Xiamen University, scientific research, faculty, talent training, and international cooperation and exchanges. She expressed that, although Law School focus on overall and all-round development, each discipline has its own advantages and characteristics, and The Discipline of International Law approved as a national key discipline in which it can become an important supporting force for further cooperation between ICDPASO and the Law School.
Director WEI Qing introduced the background and operation of the ICDPASO as well as the progress made in providing dispute prevention and settlement services for global business entities since. She believes that Xiamen University Law School, as an important Legal Education Center in the southeast coast, is undoubtedly an important partner to the ICDPASO, and she expressed the willing to get the support and guidance from legal field experts and scholars of Law School in upcoming cooperation.
Then, in response to the above introduction, the Law School professors and lectures who attended the meeting made relative responses in terms of possible cooperation and exchanges and in their respective academic research fields.
The meeting strengthened the communication between the ICDPASO and Xiamen University Law School. As the result of colloquium , ICDPASO and Xiamen University Law School both look forward a deeper and further cooperation, and the next step of in-depth cooperation should be actively explored in terms of teaching and scientific research, platform construction, legal talent training for students, and internship practice.
