Beijing, August 26, 2025-The delegation from Outstanding Foreign-related Lawyers Training Program of Hainan Province visited the Secretariat of International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO).
Mr. Jason CHIA, the Secretary-General of ICDPASO, delivered a welcome speech from the perspectives of the legal opportunities brought by the island-wide independent customs operation in Hainan Free Trade Port and ICDPASO’s one-stop legal services for dispute resolution. He emphasized that the cultivation of foreign-related legal talents is of great significance in promoting liberalization and facilitation of global trade and investment under the current circumstances. He encouraged the participants to collaborate with ICDPASO in promoting the one-stop dispute resolution mechanism, adopt “Prevention and Mediation”“Prevention and Arbitration” model clauses, and join ICDPASO’s panel of experts. He also expressed his willingness to engage in diversified cooperation with Hainan Province, leveraging Hainan Province’s regional and policy advantages to contribute to building the Hainan Free Trade Port into an important gateway leading China’s opening-up in the new era.
Mr. ZHONG Yuan, Director of Case Management at ICDPASO, provided a comprehensive overview of ICDPASO’s basic information, core business, rule features and representative cases. During the interactive session, participants engaged in discussions on ICDPASO’s role, rule innovation, resources, cross-border enforcement of arbitration and fee standards.
In closing remark, Mr. LIU Wei, Level Ⅱ Division Rank Official of Hainan Provincial Department of Justice, stated that one-stop dispute resolution services can efficiently resolve international commercial disputes. He hoped the participants would summarize experience to contribute to the better development of Hainan Free Trade Port and ICDPASO may engage in multi-level cooperation with Hainan Province.
