The Sixth Forum of Maritime Silk Road Legal Services District Opened in Xiamen

Xiamen, September 7, 2026 - On the afternoon of September 7, 2026, the Sixth Forum of Maritime Silk Road Legal Services District grandly opened in Xiamen. Mr. LIU Jiannan, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and Chairman of the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO), attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
Mr. LIU Jiannan noted that the Maritime Silk Road Legal Services District is an important platform for serving the development of the Maritime Silk Road and exploring innovations in foreign-related legal practices. CCPIT will work together with ICDPASO, which was established at its initiative, to pool global resources, deliver solid services for enterprises, and jointly cultivate legal professionals, so as to empower high-quality development of the Maritime Silk Road through the rule of law.
The main forum was presided over by Mr. YAN Jun, Executive Deputy Secretary (in charge of daily work) of Fujian Provincial Political and Legal Affairs Commission. Keynote speeches were delivered by Mr. LIN Wei, Vice President of China Law Society, President of Southwest University of Political Science and Law; Mr. LI Zhongyuan, Chief Risk Officer of the Export-Import Bank of China; Mr. YU Weifeng, Vice Chair of Belt and Road International Legal Services Association; Mr. CHIN Malin, Permanent Secretary of State, Ministry of Justice of Cambodia, Permanent Vice President, National Alternative Dispute Resolution Authority of Cambodia; Ms. LIU Xiaohong, President of Shanghai Arbitration Commission, Professor at Shanghai University of Political Science and Law; Mr. Xiao Yongping, First-Class Professor, and Dean of the Academy of International Law and Global Governance (China Top Think Tank), Wuhan University; Mr. LIU Jingdong, Director and Chief Expert of the Center for Foreign-related Rule of Law Studies of the Institute of International Law, and Senior Research Fellow, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; and Mr. FAN Jiuli, Vice President of China Law Society, President of Northwest University of Political Science and Law. Mr. Shahbaz Khan, Director of UNESCO Regional Office for East Asia, and Mr. Sundra Rajoo, President of the Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ICDPASO member), delivered video remarks.
Centered on the theme “InnovatingLegal Supply for a Rule-of-Law Hub — Empowering the High-Quality Development of the Maritime Silk Road through High-Level Construction of the Legal Services District”, this forum was co-hosted by ICDPASO, the Office of the Leading Group for the Development of the Maritime Silk Road Legal Services District and the Office of the Leading Group for the Development of Xiamen MSRLSD. More than 200 representatives from relevant authorities, chambers of commerce, universities and enterprises attended the forum on-site.
