Delegation from ICDPASO Secretariat Visited China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission

August 31, 2026  Mr. Jason CHIA, Secretary-General of the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO), visited the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) with his delegation. On behalf of the ICDPASO Secretariat, Mr. Jason CHIA congratulated CIETAC on its 70th anniversary and the remarkable achievements it has made over the past seven decades. He exchanged views with Mr. LONG Chuanhong, Secretary-General of CIETAC, and heads of relevant CIETAC departments on deepening cooperation in full-chain services integrating law and business for international commerce, as well as jointly contributing to global governance.

Looking ahead, ICDPASO, as a non-governmental international organization, and CIETAC, as a leading international arbitration institution, will leverage their respective platform strengths and professional resources to pursue practical cooperation in the joint resolution of international commercial disputes, the development and innovation of industry rules, and the cultivation of professional talents, thereby supporting higher-level opening-up and high-quality economic and trade development.

According to an official announcement by CIETAC, from August 14, 2026, Mr. LONG Chuanhong assumed office as Vice Chairman,  Secretary-General of the Secretariat, President of the Arbitration Court, and Secretary of the Party Committee of CIETAC, succeeding Mr. WANG Chengjie, who retired upon reaching retirement age. 

Prior to his appointment at CIETAC, Mr. LONG Chuanhong had served as President of the CCPIT Patent and Trademark Law Office since 2021. In 2012, he was selected as one of first cohort of national leading intellectual property experts. He also served as President of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) China, Vice-Chair of the ICC Intellectual Property Commission, Vice President of the All-China Patent Attorneys Association, and an arbitrator of CIETAC. Mr. LONG Chuanhong is qualified as both a patent attorney and a lawyer. With more than 30 years of experience in the patent field, he has been recognized by Chambers as an “Eminent Practitioner” in Intellectual Property: Non-litigation, and has been ranked for ten consecutive years.

Mr. LONG Chuanhong graduated from Tsinghua University in 1993 with a masters degree in engineering and later obtained a Master of Law from Peking University.
