Beijing, August 26, 2026—the inaugural meeting and first plenary session of the Technical Committee on Legal-Business Integration Standardization of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Commercial Sub-council (CCPITCSC/TC 12) were successfully held in the Secretariat of the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO). Leaders from the CCPIT Commercial Sub-council and ICDPASO, members of the Technical Committee, and experts from relevant fields attended the meeting, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the standardization of legal-business integration.
During the opening remarks, Mr. YAO Xin, Secretary-General of the CCPIT Commercial Sub-council, extended congratulations on the establishment of the Legal-Business Integration Standardization Committee. He noted that, in the face of complex compliance demands arising from the professionalization, digitalization, and internationalization of business activities, advancing the standardization of legal-business integration helps translate mature practices into common rules and enhances enterprises’ capacity to operate in compliance with laws and regulations. The inauguration of the Committee marks a new stage in which related work will be advanced in a more organized and systematic manner.
During his address, Mr. Jason CHIA, Secretary-General of the ICDPASO, stated that the essence of legal-business integration lies in "integration" and its key lies in "application," with dispute resolution itself being the most direct practical scenario for legal-business integration. The ICDPASO will leverage its full-chain commercial legal service system spanning "dispute prevention–dispute settlement" to deepen collaboration with the Legal-Business Integration Standardization Committee. Together, they aim to solidify best practices through standards, lead institutional innovation, align with international rules, serve enterprise needs, and pool multi-party efforts to advance the development of legal-business integration.
Ms. YANG Zhaoying, Director of the General Affairs Department of ICDPASO, was appointed Vice Chair of the Technical Committee on Legal-Business Integration Standardization. At the meeting, she read out the composition plan for the inaugural Technical Committee on Legal-Business Integration Standardization of the CCPIT Commercial Sub-council.
More than 40 representatives from law firms, higher education institutions, enterprises, industry associations, arbitration institutions, standardization research organizations, and the CCPIT system attended the meeting. The establishment of the Technical Committee provides an important platform for bringing together expertise in law, business management, standardization, corporate practice, and digital technology. Next, Committee will, in accordance with the work plan, adhere to a demand-oriented and consensus-based approach, continue to improve the legal-business integration standards system, promote better integration of professional legal services into corporate operation and management as well as international commercial activities, and provide standardization support for optimizing the business environment, enhancing corporate compliance governance capabilities, and serving high-quality development.
