Beijing, August 22, 2026 — The 19th China Corporate Legal Compliance Risk Management Forum and the 2026 China Listed Companies Legal Compliance Risk Index Release Conference, hosted by the Xiong’an Research Institute of China University of Political Science and Law and Synior Corporate Counsel Institute, was held in Beijing. Ms. YANG Zhaoying, Director of the General Affairs Department of the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO), was invited to attend the event and delivered remarks at the Round-table Dialogue themed “Compliance Safeguarding and High-Quality Development of Enterprises” during the main forum.
In her remarks, Ms. YANG noted that corporate compliance management is evolving from “post-event remediation” toward “proactive prevention”, and that dispute prevention can enhance the forward-looking nature of compliance management. She highlighted that ICDPASO has collaborative advantages across jurisdictions, professional fields, and institutions, enabling it to serve as an external extension of enterprises’ existing compliance systems in international business scenarios and as a public legal service interface to support enterprises in advancing international compliance management.
Addressing the needs of enterprises engaged in international operations, Ms. YANG introduced ICDPASO’s ongoing development of a “One-Stop Mechanism from Dispute Prevention to Settlement”. The mechanism aims to integrate multiple resolution approaches, including expert assistance, early neutral evaluation, amicable consultation, mediation, and arbitration, into the stages of contract negotiation and performance, helping enterprises incorporate dispute prevention principles throughout the entire transaction process. Meanwhile, ICDPASO is promoting the application of model clauses for the One-Stop Mechanism from Dispute Prevention to Settlement, assisting enterprises in improving dispute resolution arrangements in their contracts and enhancing their ability to prevent and manage risks in international operations.
Ms. YANG suggested that enterprises integrate dispute prevention concepts into their compliance systems, resolve disputes effectively before escalation, attach greater importance to dispute resolution arrangements in contracts, and make full use of external resources provided by international organizations and professional platforms. ICDPASO will continue to leverage its platform role and provide enterprises with more internationalized, professional, and convenient public legal services.
The forum, themed “Compliance Safeguarding and High-Quality Development of Listed Companies”, focused on key areas including modern corporate governance of listed companies, digital compliance, cross-border risk prevention and control, and state-owned enterprise reform. More than 200 representatives, including legal and compliance professionals from central and state-owned enterprises, large private enterprises, legal service institutions, experts, and scholars, attended the forum. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as corporate compliance system development, prevention of overseas business risks, and legal compliance transformation in the era of artificial intelligence, exploring practical approaches for leveraging compliance management to support high-quality corporate development.
