The International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization held the Second General Assembly and the First Meeting of the Second Council in Beijing

Beijing, June 24, 2026 – The International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO) held the Second General Assembly and the First Meeting of the Second Council in China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Hall)As a General Assembly held every five years, this assembly carries the dual mission of reviewing and summarizing past achievements while planning the future. The assembly conference agenda was compact and the procedures were standardized, fully reflecting the broad participation of member units. 

The General Assembly was held both online and offline. More than 40 representatives from 30 member units attended the meeting offline, while representatives from 11 member units attended online. Members who attended in person included Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution, Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology, Malaysia-China Business CouncilAmforiRoyal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, China International Contractors Association and The Law Society of Hong Kong.

During the General Assembly, multiple crucial deliberations including Deliberation on the Work Report and Financial Report of the First Council, Deliberation on the Charter of ICDPASO (Revised Draft) and Deliberation on the proposal to formulate the ICDPASO Membership Fee administration Rules were reviewed and approved. It also elected the Second Council, Supervisory Committee and Advisory CommitteeMember representatives from Renmin University of ChinaChina Chamber of Commerce and Technology Mexico, Organization for Trade Development and Standards Cooperation, Astana International Financial Centre Court (AIFC Courtand the AIFC International Arbitration Centre (IAC) delivered speeches in the assembly.

During the First Meeting of the Second Council, Chairperson and Secretary-General have been newly elected. As Mr. LIU Jiannanthe newly elected Chairperson and Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), noted in the concluding remarks, in the past five years, by promoting the concept of providing services globally, dispute prevention and resolution services, the network of members has covered over 100 countries and regions, prevented and resolved over 290 international commercial disputes in total. Looking ahead to the upcoming new tenure, Mr. LIU Jiannan noted three directions in work. First, maintaining composure and ensuring the direction of development. Situated as a non-governmental international organization, ICDPASO will continue providing solid support for improving global trade and economic governance and protect the cross-border rights and interests of enterprises. Second, summarizing previous experiences and uniting the strength together. Adhering to the principles of joint consultation, joint construction, and shared benefits, ICDPASO will deepen resource sharing and business collaboration among members and build ICDPASO into an important force for enterprises to prevent cross-border commercial risks. Third, building on past achievements and forging ahead into the future, while preventing and mitigating risks. ICDPASO will hone its core professional capabilities, strengthen internal and external collaboration, and promote the formation of a new pattern for resolving international commercial disputes.

The successful convening of this conference marks a crucial step forward for ICDPASO in improving its global governance structure and expanding its service network. Looking ahead, ICDPASO will continue to leverage its professional strengths, unite its global members, and continuously iterate and optimize its one-stop, full-process service system for commercial disputes, providing a solid legal guarantee for the steady and long-term development of global economic and trade cooperation.
