Beijing, April 16, 2026 - A delegation led by Mr. Patrick Nijs, Co-founder of the EU-China Joint Innovation Center (EUCJIC) and Former Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to China, visited the Secretariat of the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO).
Secretary-General Jason CHIA extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Patrick Nijs and his delegation, introducing the basic overview of ICDPASO and its recent work progress. Ambassador Patrick Nijs reviewed the longstanding and friendly cooperation between the two sides and expressed appreciation for ICDPASO's professional competence and international influence in the field of global commercial dispute resolution.
The two sides exchanged views and reached broad consensus on issues such as jointly organizing high‑level international forums, conducting joint training programs for international legal professionals, recommending experts, and promoting the ICDPASO Model Clauses. Both parties agreed to fully leverage their respective resources and advantages, further improve cooperation mechanisms, expand areas of collaboration, and jointly build an efficient, professional, and accessible international commercial legal service platform for Chinese and European enterprises. This will help resolve cross‑border economic and trade disputes and promote the high‑quality development of China‑Europe economic and trade cooperation.
