ICDPASO Secretariat Held Online Meeting with The Russian Federal Bar Association to Advance Bilateral Cooperation and Strengthen Legal Services Liaison

February 6, 2026, Beijing - The Secretariat of the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO) held a liaison meeting with the Russian Federal Bar Association (RFBA) to advance bilateral cooperation and strengthen legal services liaison. Ms. Elena Avakyan, Counsellor and Chief Digital Transformation Officer of RFBA, attended the meeting and engaged in in-depth exchanges.


During the meeting, Secretary-General Mr. Jason CHIA introduced the latest progress of ICDPASO in commercial disputes cases and expert pool development. Ms. Elena Avakyan expressed high appreciation for the strides made by ICDPASO. Both sides conducted thorough discussions on potential collaboration, including dispute prevention and settlement mechanism and nurturing legal professionals. The two parties reached a unanimous consensus. They are committed to taking this meeting as a springboard to further deepen practical cooperation, deliver premium services and robust safeguards for China-Russia cross-border trade, economic exchanges and legal cooperation, and work together to foster a stable, fair, transparent and predictable international business environment.


The Russian Federal Bar Association (RFBA) was founded on January 31st, 2003 by the decision of the 1st All-Russian Congress of Advocates. RFBA acts on the basis of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, Federal Law “On Non-Commercial Organizations”, Federal Law “On Advocate’s Activity and the Bar in the Russian Federation”, and the Charter of the RFBA, approved by the 1st All-Russian Congress of Advocates.
