Lecture on “Planting the Dream of Legal Professionals for Global Good Governance by South Lake” Held at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law

Wuhan, December 14, 2025 - Mr. Jason CHIA, Secretary-General of the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO), delivered a lecture at the School of International Law of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL). The lecture focused on the theme of “Planting the Dream of Legal Professionals for Global Good Governance by South Lake — Perspectives from International Organizations on the Development of Diversified Dispute Resolution and the Growth Path of Foreign-Related Legal Talents”. The lecture was also attended by Mr. XU Weigong, Dean of the School of International Law and Ms. WAN Li, Party Secretary of the School of International Law of ZUEL.


Mr. Jason CHIA provided a detailed introduction to ICDPASO’s establishment background, organizational positioning and membership structure. Drawing on ICDPASO’s business areas, he elaborated on the advantages of one-stop and full-chain dispute resolution services. While sharing ICDPASO’s practices in global governance, he emphasized that young legal talents are a key force in shaping the future international commercial order. He noted that ICDPASO is actively exploring new models for talent development within international organizations and expressed hope that more outstanding students would actively showcase their wisdom and responsibility on the international organizational stage, contributing to the establishment of a more fair and rational global governance system.

During the interactive session, faculty and students engaged in lively discussions on topics including dispute resolution mechanisms and the enhancement of talent competencies in international organizations.

The lecture deepened the understanding of ICDPASO among faculty and students, planted the seeds of global good governance in the hearts of young students, and provided an international perspective and developmental goals for the future career planning of legal professionals.
