Xiamen, November 25, 2025 - The “ICDPASO Law and Commerce Integration Salon”, jointly hosted by the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO) (Xiamen) Representative Office and SGLA Law Firm Xiamen, was successfully held in Xiamen. The salon focused on practical hot topics in cross-border trade and investment, attracting legal practitioners, corporate executives, and industry representatives in these fields.

Mr. Wu Shaoying, Senior Consultant of ICDPASO (Xiamen) Representative Office, shared the core service system of ICDPASO. He focused on the concept of dispute prevention, highlights of rule innovation, application scenarios of model clauses and global team resources, and presented diversified dispute resolution pathways tailored for enterprises. He emphasized that as an international organization dedicated to preventing and resolving international commercial disputes, ICDPASO plays a unique role in supporting the high-quality development of the "Belt and Road" Initiative and optimizing the international business environment by providing full-chain, one-stop legal services covering "prevention beforehand, mediation during and settlement afterward". These services help enterprises precisely avoid cross-border risks, efficiently resolve disputes, and reduce the costs of safeguarding their rights.

Mr. Arvin Lee, Partner at Wee Swee Teow LLP, drew upon his cross-border dispute resolution experience to outline practical frameworks for addressing common legal issues such as breach of contract disputes and energy disputes from the respondent's perspective. He analyzed differences in application of laws, evidentiary rules, and resolution strategies across jurisdictions, providing practical guidance for enterprises in preventing risks and safeguarding their interests in cross-border transactions.

During the Q&A session, the guests engaged in in-depth discussions on hot topics including cross-border dispute prevention mechanisms, applicability across different jurisdictions, and cross-border dispute resolution strategies for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The combination model of ICDPASO dispute prevention clauses with commercial mediation or arbitration clauses has been widely recognized, as it meets the core needs of enterprises for compliance and rights protection in overseas expansion, efficiently resolves disputes through diversified methods, and provides precisely tailored solutions for enterprises’ cross-border operations.

This event successfully built a communication bridge between international organizations, the legal practice community, and the business sector. Moving forward, the Xiamen Representative Office will continue to deepen international legal cooperation and exchanges, provide efficient, flexible, and targeted dispute prevention and settlement services for more international commercial entities, and contribute to fostering a stable and fair international business environment.
